- Biwako Base
- [10 minute drive] A tiny aquarium. More than 100 species of freshwater creatures from Lake Biwa and other parts of Japan are always on display. Open only on Fri, Sat, Sun and holidays from 10am-5pm. Admission: Adults (18 years and older) 300 yen.

- Shiga Seirin Park
- [10 minute drive] A public park with playground equipment. Seirin Shiga is considered a person who performed the foundation of sumo wrestling in the Nara period.

- Yobai Waterfall
- [14 minute drive to the parking] At 76 meters high, the biggest waterfall in Shiga. A few minutes walk to the first waterfall, another 15 minute walk to the main waterfall.
